AOL Podcast Search Powered By TVEYES
This is some very exciting news for marketers, podcast
publishers and the general consumerr. Podcasting will now be even easier
to search, find and consume by the masses...America Online, Inc. has
launched a podcast search engine powered by TVEyes, Inc., which will
be integrated into the main AOL Search. AOL Podcast Search
AOL's podcast search function will offer immediate access
to every known podcaster's up-to-date files and thousands of archived
files as well as AOL's podcast offerings and programming in this fall.
To plan for enhanced podcast search, AOL has introduced a couple of
new features and programming so that listeners can easily discover,
experience and download some of the web's most popular podcasts.
"AOL visitors will be able to search for content
within podcast files just like they do for text within web pages. Because
of AOL's commitment to podcasting, consumer-created and broadcast media
distributed as podcasts will gain truly global distribution," says
David J. Ives, president and chief executive officer of TVEyes, Inc."
As a side note, these guys have a really great technology.
I met them last year at the Portable Media Expo (podcast expo) where
they were in a booth 1 row over from ours. What podscope effectively
does is convert spoken word audio and turn it into searchable text through
a voice recognition technology that they own. It is really cool stuff
that will make AOL Podcast Search an effective tool for consumers.
